September 12th Portland, Oregon opened up fashion week with a free event hosted by Rose City Circle. Rose City Circle(RCC) is a group consisted of four local Portland street wear brands. Each brand having their own message image, but all sharing the same mission.
I was able to attend this event as a VIP and want to give thanks to Triibe Movement for the invitations. ( I also interviewed The Triibe and a post will be in the future.) . This event was exactly what RCC wanted and a perfect opener for Fashion Week. At first entrance I was greeted by Co-owner of The Creators, Andrew Woods. Having the opportunity to meet and greet with Andrew was awesome, listening to what the RCC has in planned for their first event and what each brand can bring to the Circle.
Bullē Classic is a name you have heard before if you have kept up on my posts. Like always hanging out with the boys from Bullē was a blast. In a new environment for me knowing these guys really helped, not too mention the Rum&coke kept conversation at ease.
Talking with Mia Robinson and Diamond Ferguson, owners of Triibe Movement I was able to catch a glimpse at how it is hosting your their first event. The ladies are excited for being part of RCC and can’t wait for what is in the future. When asking what they want to bring out of the RCC most Mia said, “Too bring the community out from behind the keyboard and into a public environment, whether it be business or recreational.”
I also met with the owners of The Incorporated who have more of a city and political view and message behind their brand. Mark McGinnis studied at University of Portland and brings Seattle to Portland in his creative ideas behind The incorporated.
Having the chance to shake hands and put a face and name behind the companies that I follow, enjoy, and love is always a blessing. I received business cards from multiple people and now see where my future can go with the building of a community of friends and family.
